Mental Health & Behavioral Supports
Supporting the well-being of our students is a cornerstone of school safety. Orono Schools takes a proactive approach to identifying and addressing social, emotional, and behavioral needs before they escalate into crises. Through early intervention, mental health partnerships, and positive behavioral supports, we strive to ensure every student feels connected, supported, and equipped to manage challenges in healthy ways.
Our framework emphasizes understanding the pathway to violence and using that knowledge to interrupt concerning behaviors early. By fostering strong relationships, teaching coping and problem-solving skills, and providing tiered supports, we build a culture of care that keeps our schools safe and welcoming for all.
