General Information
- Early Dismissal | Juniors and seniors with a prom ticket and parent permission may be dismissed from school after 4th hour (11:34 a.m.). Make sure your parent/guardian checks the permission box in MyPaymentsPlus if you want to be excused after 4th hour on prom day.
- Prom Court | All seniors attending prom will be eligible for prom court. The court will be voted on by their peers. Prom court will be introduced during Grand March and King and Queen will be voted on by the prom court.
- Grand March | The Grand March is at 6:00 p.m. in the Orono High School Gym. Students should plan to arrive between 5:15 and 5:45 p.m. Family, friends, and the community is invited to attend the Grand March.
- Evening Location | Dinner, the dance, a photo booth, games, and other activities will be from 7:00-10:00 p.m. at The Metropolitan Ballroom & Clubroom (5418 Wayzata Blvd, Golden Valley, MN 55416).
Tickets & Table Selection
Tickets will be on sale starting Tuesday, April 14 at 3:00 p.m.
- Prom tickets must be purchased first on MyPaymentsPlus. Purchase an individual or a couple ticket.
-
Table selection will begin at lunch on Thursday, April 16.
-
Prior to selecting your table, pick up a red “Detention Pass” from the office indicating you have no unfilled detentions. You may pick up these passes beginning April 14 (you may pick up the detention pass before you purchase a prom ticket, as it simply indicates you have no unfilled detentions). You must have all detentions cleared prior to selecting a table. Everyone must have a Detention Pass.
-
When you arrive to select your table, you will turn in your Detention Pass (indicating no detentions), AND we will check that you have purchased a prom ticket in MPP.
-
- If you purchase your ticket after school/in the evening, you may reserve a spot during lunch the following day, or any day after. For same day ticket sales and table reservations, 11 a.m. each day is the cutoff. You may also reserve a spot any day AFTER the day you purchase your ticket.
- You may only reserve spots for tickets you have paid for (prior to 11 a.m. that day).
- Any students who have purchased a ticket but not reserved a table spot by May 9 will be placed by the prom advisors.
- Each table seats 10, so it is best to form groups of 10 or under prior to reserving a table and to come up together as a group when possible. If your group is larger than 10, simply reserve tables near each other. If your group is smaller than 10, you can either join a table with others, or start a new table with your group, understanding that you will be combined with others. We will not break up groups, but we may combine smaller groups together.
- When you reserve a spot at a table, you will choose your meal (beef, chicken, vegetarian pasta, chef's choice vegan) and notify us of any dietary restrictions.
- No nuts or nut oils will be in any item. Chefs can accommodate almost all dietary restrictions, but you must tell us when you sign up!
Important Rules & Deadlines
- Prom is for juniors and senior students only, including guests from other schools. Guests who are not currently attending high school but are under 21 may be eligible but require administrative approval. If you would like to bring an older guest who is not a high school student, please complete a guest form, and make an appointment to see Ms. Head. All guest forms are due by May 8, 2026 at 2:40 p.m.
- You may purchase tickets and reserve spots before turning in your guest form, but your guest will not be allowed to attend prom without the form. If your guest is not approved, you will not be able to receive a refund for their ticket.
- Each Orono student is allowed only one guest and is responsible for that guest for the evening.
- All tables are reserved first come, first serve (you must have purchased your ticket on MyPaymentsPlus before 11 a.m. on any given day to reserve a spot at a table during lunch that day, or you may reserve on any day following your ticket purchase).
- Once you reserve a spot, you may not move except in extenuating circumstances and with approval from Mr. Lundquist.
- Ticket sales close on Tuesday, May 5 at 11:59 p.m., unless we sell out (unlikely, but possible). The last day to sign up for prom tables during lunch is May 6.
- Anyone not signed up for a table by May 6 will be placed by the prom advisors.
- No refunds will be given for purchased tickets, except in extenuating circumstances.
